 Contemplation.
« Thread Started on Jun 15, 2008, 9:36pm »

Damsel leaned on the side of the deck railing. In a flash of bright light, all of her vampiretic disguise failed her. In a single instant, her hair was back to its normal length, and her wings appeared up from behind her.
"I think I'm pretty much screwed..." she mumbled to herself. She felt very weak. Most of her power had been used for this, and she was hoping they'd be on land so she could renew it, or find Soranaya. She admired herself for a moment. the whole vampire look wasn't working for her, and she really did miss her wings. How she was going to get out of here before anyone saw her she had no idea.

Damsel gazed to the stars, she could always fly to land. Well, that normally would have worked, but this time she had a feeling it wouldn't. One pirate, alone, on a pirate hunters ship equaled complete and utter tragedy. And she knew no one would help her out, not ever Razor. Hell, especially not Razor. Damsel could feel her blood pressure rising with hate. How could he use her like this? She felt a tear slowly falling down the side of her face. She wanted to go home, wanted to find Johnothan, wanted to be safe. Nothing was left for her here. "how can I get myself out of this one?" she whispered.

Damsel sensed someone behind her. She didn't care. Not anymore. Maybe they would just kill her. Maybe she could finally go home to where she belonged. Hell.

Riza paced the deck, barely paying attention to where she was walking. She was in deep thought about what to do. She had to find a way to reconcile her husband and her friend. It wasn't going to be easy, but she had to find a way!

It was then that she noticed a stranger on the deck and her hand immediately went to where her bow was stashed, "You are not supposed to be here." Her voice was calm, yet hard, "Who are you?"

"It's Damsel, Riza" she said, sighing. Snagged already, and it hadn't even been five minutes. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. I just smuggles myself onto this ship a while back, I thought I'd be with Soranaya by now." She looked over at Riza, complete and utter pain written all over her face. "What do you want from me?"

Damsel? Riza's heart cracked. She was back? Oh hell, things could go interesting with her around. She swallowed before she spoke, "How do you know my name?" Her voice did not quiver in anger or sadness and she was proud of herself for that, "I've never met you before, but you know my name." Suspicion creeped into her tone, "Just how long have you been here?"

"Well, I've pretty much been here since you lat left port..." she glared at Riza. "Been in disguise for a while, it pretty much depleted my energy. Originally i was a vampire, Alex, to be exact, I tried to stay out of the way." Damsel sighed. At least she knew it worked.

"And just who is this?" Samual asked as he walked up to Riza and this new person on the deck, hand on Soulblade's hilt. Staring intensely into her eyes, he tried to discern her mood. However, Samual quickly broke contact after only a few seconds and lowered his eyes, shaking his head. "Yikes. That was too close." He muttered to himself. Another second of that, he would have been a crying mess. He would definitely have to tell Riza about what he had just seen. Later, though. "Do you two know each other?" Samual asked conversationally, hand never straying from his sword hilt.

"Unfortunately," Damsel said rather monotone. "I'm Damsel, nice to meet ya," Noticing the rather disturbed look on Samuel's face, she kinda made a face and looked him up and down cautiously. "look, I'm not planning on hurting anyone, I'm too tired. The sword ain't necessary..." Damsel sighed. The people on this ship were less carefree than she would have liked.

Samual cocked an eyebrow at Riza before shrugging. "Samual. And sorry, but why exactly should I trust your word? I mean, you are a stowaway, after all." Samual pointed out in a reasonable but not unfriendly tone.

Riza was thankful there was someone else to have a reasonable conversation with Damsel. Her opinion wasn't really unbiased. "I'm sure Razor'll vouch for her Samual." Riza told him quietly, deciding to not address Damsel until she could come up with something nice.

Eyebrow cocked again, Samual sensed something was amiss. "Hmm. Well, let me go and get him, then...." Samual said as he excused himself to do just that.

Razor came back out on Deck with Samual and Jean-Luc no doubt close behind. And much to his dismay, the Damsel Samual was referring to, was indeed the beautiful faerie girl he'd used and tossed aside. And there she was, apparently talking to Riza of all people...
What had she told her? What was going on? Why the hell did she come back?! Life would be so much easier if she'd just stayed away.
He didn't want to face her after what he'd done to her.
He didn't love her, but she had been his friend.
"Damsel...uh...What are you doing here?" He couldn't control his expression. It was nervous, unsure, cautious, annoyed, and most of all, uncomfortable.

At Razor's appearance, Riza took in his facial expression and bit her lip to keep from sighing. This was going to be an uncomfortable situation and she'd rather just get out of the way. "I'll just let the two of you work this out," She told them quietly, taking a wide path around the pair and back toward the helm. She could manipulate the winds that would take them to Kaesiar. It would at least be a distraction.

Samual wound up out the door first, but he immediately sensed the atmosphere from the two, and stopped dead in his tracks. "Hmm.... This probably isn't the best place to be right now...." Samual said to himself before backing away and going below decks.

Damsel turned around with an 'oh shit' type look on her face. "Razor...?" well this was awkward. "Alright, kinda funny, comical story here. You see, I had thought we would have reached the Rum Rider by now, and, uhh..." she delayed for a second, trying to think of what to do. "Holy shit, Razor! Incoming ship!" of course there was nothing there, but for the split second he looked she attempted to dart away. Eh, it was worth the shot.

Of course, Razor looked, since it was a very good possibility that another ship could have been there. That had been happening a lot lately, but he felt rather idiotic for looking for more than two seconds. By the time he turned around, Damsel was running off. What the hell? She came here, why was she running?! Razor'd been worried that he'd have to run because she'd be so flaming upset with him. Grunting with frustration, Razor chased after her for about three seconds before he managed to grab a hold of her arm. Making sure she was turned to face him when he spoke, he asked calmly, but there was an anxious and unnerved edge in his voice, "Damsel. You wouldn't come back here for no reason: So why did you?"
Surely what he'd done to her would she wouldn't want to come back unless it was for revenge.
Right?
Of course, there was always that slim chance that she'd forgiven him, which he found highly unlikely, since he knew he didn't deserve it.

Damsel glared, trying to get Razor to let go of her arm. "Eh, look Razor, I'm not the type of person to hold grudges. I haven't exactly forgiven you, but I'm not angry either."
Damsel sighed. "I'm happy for you that your married now. Really. And I don't want to ruin that. All I want to do is go back home. It seems like where ever I go I screw up terribly. Remember by brother, Johnothan? You probably don't. But he's dead now. You want to know why?" Damsel felt like completely sobbing, she was trembling at the thought of what she was about to admit to. "I killed him. He tried to turn me into a vampire as a disguise and we could both find the rum rider, and help Sora and, and maybe, if I was lucky, she would forgive me for betraying her. It went horribly wrong, he used to much black magic, im not exactly sure what happened, but when i woke up out of my trance, he was dead. the entire village was dead. There was blood everywhere. Johnothan was dead in my arms, the last person I had. That was the first time in my life I ever cried that hard." Damsel felt a tear dropping down her face, and stubbornly wiped it away. "Feel free to just kill me now, Razor. All I really want to do is die or go back home. This here is the last place in the world I want to be." Damsel tried to wipe her face of all emotion, and waited for his response.

If Razor didn't feel bad enough about the whole thing before, he felt worse now. Closing his eyes, he shook his head. Kneeling down, he let go of her arms, but let go of her shoulders, giving her a serious, but not unfriendly face. "Damsel." He made sure he had her attention before continuing. "Things like this happen, and believe me, I'm not a stranger to it by any means." He'd try to help her if he could, after what he'd done to her she deserved at least that. He didn't love her, but he liked her. "I won't make you leave, but believe me when I say that staying would be a horrible idea. I can't take you to the Rum Rider, you know that. If you're seen with me, she'd never believe that I betrayed you and that you deserved to be back on Sora's crew. You have to go on your own, and as soon as possible while I'm not looking for them." He paused, "I know it's not worth much to you, but you have my word that I won't follow. If you need to stay for the night to rest, then by all means. But tomorrow, I want you to go back to that ship, get your life back, and if you need to, make me out to be the biggest bastard on the seas to convince Sora to let you come back." A ghost of a smile crossed his face, "It wouldn't be hard to make me look bad."

"No, it wouldn't be hard to make you look bad at all," Damsel smirked. "I think I'll be fine. There are alot of things I would rather do than stay on your ship. I would rather stick a needle in the pupil of my eye, I would rather Fall down a building and have my wrist caught on a nail on the way down, i would rather fall into a burning pit of fire and have my face covered with flames, oh, i would also rather shoot myself directly in the head. But thanks anyway for the offer." Damsel shrugged and started to walk off. "No hard feeling ," she said, and with that, she was gone.

Razor just stood there in disbelief as she flew off. That was all she came back for? To say how much she hated him?
Well, he figured that was a good enough reason. She had every right in the world to despise him and tell him that.
Of course, it didn't do anything for his guilty conscience.
Guilt guilt guilt! He always felt guilty over things!
"Hmph..." He grunted, crossing his arms. When he was sure she was gone, he shouted, "NO HARD FEELINGS MY ASS!!!" a little bit dramatically. Okay, that wasn't exactly the epitome of maturity! But oh well...
