Ravyn's stomach took the opportunity to growl, and she barely kept her expression from slipping back to embarassment. "You're the food expert, not me." She told him, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms over her chest. "If you left the cooking up to me, I suspect I might explode something."

Pocky fixed her with a wide-eyed stern look. "Oh, no you don't. Not in my kitchen. I've had to deal with that lately and it was not a pretty sight. I think the substance is going to be ground into my skin for weeks still. Let me take care of that." He turned and started to organize supplies and ingredients. He had a delicious idea...

Ravyn grinned when his back was turned, or maybe she was just trying to get out of cooking? Her father had owned an inn after all, she could do some things, simple things. She just wasn't going to tell him that. She liked eating his cooking, almost as much as she liked watching him cook. It was soothing. "I'll leave it to you," she told him, making herself comfortable in her chair and watching him go about his work.

Pocky eased into the work with a familiar air, his movements sure and steady. "Fine. But you'll need to decide what else we're going to do, then." He stoked the fire up to the proper temperature and mixed up different ingredients, pouring them on the clean board on the counter, letting is set in the air for a few minutes while he mixed herbs and meat and cheese in a bowl.

Ravyn leaned back in her chair, resting her feet in the next one. She sighed, "Why do I have to decide, I'm bad at decision making." She sniffed the air experimentally, staring confusedly at the mix of ingredients. "And just what is that going to be?" She asked suspiciously.

Pocky smiled slyly. "You'll find out now won't you?" he replied with an evil smile. He returned to what he was doing, stoking up the fire and switching the contents to a pan. "You're supposed to be deciding where we are going to find a moment alone and undisturbed by either the rest of the crew or any bad event that may happen in the next hour or three."

Ravyn rolled her eyes, "Undisturbed? You must be dreaming. For one, our crew has the ability to walk in at the most inopportune moments and for two, the bad has a way of sneaking in anyway. I should know." She added lightheartedly. She didn't mean anything by the last comment, it was her attempt at humor. Self-depricating worked for her, or at least for her mentality. "I think we'll just have to barricade the door, don't you?"

Pocky sighed and placed his hands spread out on the counter, head bent down. "With something heavy," he said, looking up at her, "like a cannon." He pushed his hair back and raised his eyebrows significantly at Ravyn.

Ravyn couldn't help but laugh. "And even that might not work with the way our crew operates." She shook her head. "Not to mention, how are we supposed to move a cannon?" She added, still smiling slightly.
She was so engrossed in their conversation that she didn't even notice she was doing it. The shadows in the room lengthened, especially her shadow. It was partly due to her emotions and partly due to her exhaustion. Either way it didn't matter. It was still happening.

Pocky laughed and opened his mouth to answer her but then stopped short. "Rae, is it getting darker in here or am I going blind?" he asked in confusion. He looked around, seeing the darkness expanding.

Ravyn looked up in confusion, noticing the shadows for the first time. "Ack, sorry. I don't even realize." She stood from her stool to face the room so she could dispell the darkness. Unfortunately, she stepped directly in her shadow and before she knew what was happening, she fell straight through the floor and was gone.

Pocky panicked when Ravyn fell through the floor. "Rae?! Rae!" He ran to where she was last standing. Gone. Just gone. How?....The shadows. He ran to the door, checking one last time that she wasn't in the room before going to find her, checking the lower levels first.
